Pox party and 2mo old.

I have two older children, 6 and 4 and have been waiting and looking for a chance at chicken pox.  One of my friends dd's has chicken pox now and has said she is up for a playdate. The only problem is that I also have a 2 month old. He is EBF, and I had CP as a child.

Is it too risky to expose my older two kids to CP, or is the baby well enough protected?

Yes, I think it's too risky with a 2 month old.

My exclusively breastfed 6 month old got chicken pox from her brother many moons ago.

I would really need to read up on whether chicken pox was dangerous to a 2 month old, but given their tender age my gut says avoid it.

That's what I was wondering, Kathy and why I'm leary of exposing them.  DS has a wbv tomorrow, so I'm going to ask our ped about it to be sure (phrased in a "we think we may have been exposed" way, obviously they are all going to say never ever to a pox party at any age) but was curious what MDCers would say about it.

I wouldn't. I could expose my kids right now (CP in town), but I feel DD is too young (12 months). 2 years is my personal threshold.

My kids are 6 and 8 I think it is time I start looking for it huh... no- i agree 2 months is too young.
