Hi Brooke. Welcome.

Not sure how to explain the boards to you. Basically just click on the diff. subjects and respond if you want to.

This particular board is for women due in August. So we are sharing a similar pregnancy timeline and supporting one another.

There are a lot of acronyms used on these boards that you'll just have to ask about when you come across them. You'll be able to figure some of them out easily enough.

Other than that, just step right in and start posting so we can get to know you and you can get to know us. We're here to support one another through the challenges and wonderful parts of pregnancy.

How are you feeling so far? How was the first trimester for you? Are you feeling better now that you're heading into 2nd trimester? Are you seeing a mw or doctor?

I'd look through the signs and symptoms thread to see what we've all been noticing so far. And some of us are already talking about the birth and who we want with us. It's never to early to start planning the birth. It's a hugely impt. part of the experience.

Anyways, don't get too overwhelmed. You can always just hang back and read. smile.gif

Did you just find out?  Congrats.  What's your due date?  Glad to have you here.  I had my first child at 17, preggo at 16 and it was really difficult.  It was way back before Dr Sears was known and the going philosophy was don't hold your baby too much, dont sleep with them, etc etc.  Just like now.  But I had no one to steer me.  I just did what felt right.  I didnt care what anyone said.  SO that ended up being my baby was always with me and always nursing and always sleeping with me.  I had one of those lame carriers that they ahd 20 years ago that someone had given me, but I still wore her around in it everywhere.  My biggest regret was that I stopped nursing her because of pressure from mother in law. By pressure I mean, she made me stop.  I was too young to stand up for myself, and much to meek.  Since then I've not cared what anyone said.  Three and a half years was my record.

anyway...I understand how scary and lonely it can be but you've found a great place to find some friends!

Yeah, like Jaimie said, just read the titles, when you see a subject you are interested in, click on it.  I usually leave even just a short comment so I can find where my last comment was.  On the front page of our DDC if you've replied ot a thread (a conversation) it will give you a link to click to go to your last comment.  Also, I saved the DDC to my bookmarks so I dont have to wade through the main board.

The threads are just basically conversations...how we are feeling, what we are eating, etc.

Dont feel like you have to read every thread...just find what interests you.  You'll start to recognize names and get to know people.
