Okay 21 month old DS. Â We are down to nursing 3 times a day (with increased nursing frequency when he's sick, so a couple of weeks ago he was nursing more like 5 times a day). Â He is night weaned and has been since 14 months (when he started STTN).
Â
Over the past month my sleep has gotten absolutely horrific. Â I am typing this after going to bed at 9pm and then tossing and turning until I gave up at 12:22am. Â I have taken melatonin, sleepy time tea and finally half a prescription sleep aid...and, nothing. Â Â
Â
Just terrible sweating and I'm hot...and jumpy. Â Jumpy, partially because we've been having trouble with a neighbor playing bass late at night (as in 2:30am when he gets home from work) and waking us (so every time a car passes or a noise happens outside I'm anticipating the next bass beat) and because DS has started taking well over an hour to fall asleep, talking to himself and crying out frequently...so I end up anticipating him needing me. Â
Â
So, I think my lack of sleep has a few causes...but tonight the worst of it is the sweating. Â
Â
Any ideas...anything I take has to be safe for DS's 5:30am wake up nursing. Â Yup, he gets up at 5:30am...sigh. Â Is this horrific insomnia normal with this level of nursing? Â Is it hormonal? Â What the f is going on with my body!? Â I just want to sleep...mostly because my sleep deprivation is making me a less than stellar mama and wife.
Â
Help...whimper.
Â
ETA, this all seems to have started to ramp up (the insomnia thing) around when AF resumed at 18 months PP.
