Where do you live? I live in Utah
What do you do (day job, profession, SAHM, etc.)? I am a SAHM and I teach piano lessons after school 3 days a week. I also volunteer in 2 of my kids classrooms once a week.
How did you select your MDC name? Lilies are one of my favorite flowers and I love the sound of Shasta Lily. :-)
How many children do you have? I have 3 girls and dh has 2 girls and a boy. My kids live with us full-time except occasional visits with their dad, his kids are here about 1/2 the time. This baby will be our first together.
Hobbies: Playing the piano (a given after my last answer, huh?), reading, love the outdoors (walking, picnicking, hiking), gardening (I am a beginner still though). We are putting in a garden this spring as this house didn't have one when we bought it last year. We are so excited! I like flower gardening the best, but also enjoy vegetable gardens.
When I have time to myself, I love to read a good book outside if it's nice and especially if it's sunny. I also spend some time online and lately taking naps. :-)
Favorite Actor/actress: Love most Meg Ryan movies
I play the piano too! What kind of music do you like to play? Are your kids musical? My kids hate when I play and they just want to push me aside so they can bang on the keys (but they are only 3 and 5). How long have you been playing? Who are your musical influences? I used to teach a bit too and I just don't have the patience for it so I admire you for doing that :)

Awesome, Linnie! I love piano and music in general. I've been playing since I was 6. I went as far as concert pianist level as a teen but have sloughed off a lot from there. Carpal tunnel had a lot to do with that. I had surgery for it when I was about 18 and again last summer (16 years later). So I can't sit down and play hard for long sessions anymore. But I still enjoy playing some classical, also songs from musicals like "Wicked", and popular music. I enjoy singing too and have been in a few different choirs.
I'm teaching all of my girls piano. My oldest showed the most interest at the youngest age so she is quite a bit further than her sisters. My other two are both beginners still. I was really excited when they finally showed interest in it a couple months ago so we picked it back up again. My 7 year old loves to sing and makes up songs all the time. My oldest has also tried out violin and was great at it but got frustrated with the atmosphere in her orchestra class so quit this semester. I have taught piano off and on over the years. It is much easier now that my kids are older. I love that I can make a little extra income out of my house for just a few hours a week. Much better hourly rate than I could get working part time out of the house.
We met at match.com. :-) Funny because we actually lived in the same city, but different ends of town and our paths probably would have never crossed in daily life. Seems once you hit 30 and have kids it's hard to get out and meet people the "traditional" way.
We love going on picnics in the summer, whether at the park or in our own backyard. :-) We like to take a picnic up the canyon to a park and let the kids play on the playground and go on a short hike on the trails. There are some great city parks around here too. Our picnicking is pretty simple, it's more about just enjoying nature than the food for us. lol So usually we just grab something quick, like sandwiches and stuff. Although dh took me on a fun date and cooked up some delicious grilled chicken on the charcoal grill at the park and we had some yummy fixins to go with it. In the backyard, grilled chicken or burgers is one of our standards in the summer. Can't wait until we can start doing that again. We usually cook out in our backyard a couple times a week when the weather is warm.
My SO and I met online too. :)
Growing up I always wanted 4 or 5 kids. I grew up in a family of 5 kids. I had 3 in my first marriage, got remarried last year to someone with 3 kids as well, and now we are having one together. This will probably be it for us. :-)
Life's ambition? Raise my children to be happy, emotionally healthy individuals. I hope they can look back on their growing up years and always know they were loved and protected.
Remembered for: Someone that loved, cared for, and could be counted on to be there for my family and friends. Genuine. Dependable.
I would love to visit so many places! On the top of my list would be parts of Europe and Scandanavia...namely London, Paris, Rome, Norway & Sweden (my ancestors are from N. & S.), Hawaii, British Columbia, Oregon Coast
I really like where I live currently. I have lived in a couple other states and there's just nothing like home...I'm from here.
