FOE question

Instead of using FOE, can you buy 1 inch elastic from walmart and just fold it in half and sew it in like that?

You could try, but I don't think it would fold very well because it would be too stiff.

Well I did this for one of my covers, I used the walmart elastic to go all around the diaper. My results: the back elastic and legs lost their elastic stretch (I use swimmers elastic for this), the walmart elastic was too stiff so it didnt work right. Second it wicked. Now I did just wash/dry it and am going to try it again to see if it was just the sewing holes that caused the PUL to wick, because the elastic is polyester/rubber, and my exterior print did not go to the end of the PUL. He will use the cover sometime this afternoon Im sure. So I will post back and let you know how it works. It looks ok, it just doesnt have the nice elastic look that I prefer.

Ive used that elastic inside some dipes recently and it worked great for that, so that might be something to consider if you dont want to use it as FOE. It does fold alright though, just have to kind of crease it so it holds the shape.

spicensnail007, the reason I was asking, is because I wanted to use FOE inside of my AIO's to see if it would stop my AIO's from wicking. I've got FOE coming to me from fabriconecction, but I'm getting impatient!
Any ideas on making wick-proof AIO's?
