abdomen 'pain'?

Thread Starter
So I just had my c/s 5 months ago. Recovery was amazing compared to what I've heard a lot of other women say, and it has generally not been all that tough. I never really had pain at the incision or in my abdomen. I do notice now when I bend over and reach just right to grab something out in front of me or over to the side at a weird angle that I get a sharp sensation in my tummy. It's quick and it doesn't hurt after it happens. It kind of reminds me of round ligament pain that you get during pregnancy, but up higher but I'm not pregnant (yet). So I'm wondering if anyone else gets/got this too? I'm also wondering if being pregnant with a scarred uterus feels 'different' at all? I saw the other thread about feeling like the baby was kicking the scar. I know there is kind of a numbness there now, so I'm wondering if you really can feel that and if anyone else has? I'm planning on ttc once we get to 9 months out and I'm trying to prepare myself mentally for what to expect.

TIA for any help!!

Sounds normal to me! This pregnancy (first after c/s) has felt different. I had some adhesions that caused some discomfort early in the pregnancy and as baby grew it did start to kick at the scar some (I think it's just more noticeable at the scar). It's not been painful, just odd, really.

Good luck!

Hi hon. It's perfectly normal after a baby, period. I've had 3 CS, came very close to having my first VBAC during my first VBAC attempt with my daughter last June (VBA2C), only problem was she was stuck at 0 station and not descending past 0 due to being OP. As far as pain in the scar with subsequent babies, that is very likely to happen at least with the next baby, I noticed it with my son but not with my second daughter. Other than the pain, it did not feel too much different to me. But my CS were also spaced over a time periodof 3 days shy of 7 years (maybe that makes a difference, maybe it doesn't.) I'll soon find out, as I plan on TTC myself here soon (baby girl will be 9 months in less than 3 days.) Also ake sure you obtain a copy of your medical records and post-op report, it helps to show your prospective dr/midwife why you were sectioned and what went on during labor (if you went through labor.) I can't wait to get pregnant again and go for my VBA3C :-D Feel free to post more q's or you can message me if you want to talk more.
