I have a yellow spot on the tip of my nipple. It hurts during the first minute or so of breastfeeding my 18 month old. It's been over two weeks and I am just getting concerned. Any idea what it is or tips on healing? Thanks!

I have had one for about 6 months.. milk occasionally comes out... so it's not getting infected or anything. I think it's a blocked milk duct. The skin grows over. I read to hold a warm cloth on it then nurse. I can say NOT to try to pinch the skin off the top. I did that with one and it hurt for a week!
I remember having a yellow spot too... gosh I can't remember what I did for it tho- but I don't think it is uncommon. Hope someone has the answer for ya!
Thanks for the replies! The yellow spot disappeared but I am still having a little pain when she latches. I am guessing if I go to the doctor they will tell me I should wean my 18 month old :). Hopefully it will resolve on its own!
