First response OPK

2012-02-08_15-13-18_893.jpgany experience?  do the lines get darker as you get close?  My line today (first day using these) is pretty dark,  but not quite a positive.  Should I test again this evening or wait?

Edited to add photo.... also, I took another one 4 hours later and it was super light.  I had a big drink in between, but, could that mean ovulation happened this morning?

OPK's do NOT indicate when ovulation occurred.  Generally ovulation will occur within 24-36 hours of your peak reading.  So if you got the darkest line this morning, you might assume O to occur sometime between then and tomorrow evening.  The lines should get progressively darker on this type of test as the LH builds (unlike with the smilie or +/- tests), peaking prior to O.  But, LH tends to surge in the afternoon/early evening so many women miss their peak OPK by only testing in the morning.  I would try testing again in the early evening after holding your pee for a few hours.  But again, an OPK+ does not mean you ovulated, it means you're gearing up to O.  I would recommend DTD for several days after your last OPK+ to ensure you do not miss O and O+1.

I think I missed my LH surge on the OPK since I took my first one yesterday at 11am and it has got progressively lighter as the day goes on.  I had a temp increase today and tons of EWCM yesterday (especially in the AM), cervix was high and soft, I can never tell about how open it is.... I also had lots of ovary pain that has gone away today.  I think I just didn't use the OPKs early enough in the cycle (or at the correct time, since I am on CD33, NOT early in the cycle :)

Thank you for your responses all through this cycle.  It has been so crazy.  I hope temp will continue to increase over the next 2 weeks and I will be pregnant!!!
