Anyone do Zumba while pg?
Do you know if it is safe??
Thanks!

I had a Zumba instructor who Zumba-ed all the way until week 37. She highly recommends it for pregnant women. Anything you're doing before you get pregnant is usually safe during the pregnancy. Just make sure you can talk throughout the workout and obviously stop if you're feeling faint or have any bleeding or cramping. Also, drink lots of water.
I'm still lifting weights and doing interval training and my doctor thinks it's great.
I agree with the PP! I would also add listen to your body. If you are tired don't push yourself like you normally would. Take a break, drink lots of water, and make sure you can talk (which means baby is getting enough oxygen). My thoughts are if you were doing it prepregnancy you should be good to go.
I'm 5-6 weeks now and do Zumba. I plan on continuing until I'm uncomfortable. I don't do as much jumping or turning (mostly cause I'd probably hurl all over)
Also if you are concerned ask your Dr if you are OK health wise to continue.
Hugs and congrats!!!
my Zumba instructor taught class up until she just couldn't any longer when she was pregnant. I plan on taking her class, NOW, until I can't any longer either. I just do a more low-impact version of whatever she's doing if I feel I need to. She did the same the further on she got in the PG. She'd do maybe 1 version of the high-impact and then switch to low. Just to show us what to do.
Keep it up!
I did it through week 39 (was supposed to go to the week 40 class, but I already had the baby by then!). When I started going through the "I have to pee every five minutes" stage I moved it to low-impact.
I'm 2.5 weeks pp and can't wait to get back! If only the gym's daycare would take little miss before six weeks...
