Hi there! I have been lurking about on this site for a few days, and have been amazed at the wonderful posts, people, and articles I keep seeing. I am a 30 year old stay-at-home mommy and freelance writer. I have one son who will be five at the end of this month; he is a wonderful, sensitive boy. He also has SPD, which makes life a bit (a lot?) challenging at times...especially since we have been homeschooling for "preschool" and plan to continue doing so in earnest for kindergarten.Â

I am pregnant with my second child, a girl, and we are all very excited for her to make her appearance next month. We are a family of many contradictions: Christian but liberal, military but non-violent, foodies but frugal...I could go on and on. I am very interested in traditional cooking (the kind involving culturing foods, etc. :)), all things natural, gluten-free cooking and baking (we are a gluten-free household), local food and farmer's markets, literature, music, gardening, you name it. I look forward to meeting many likeminded people on these forums!
