I was reading a story on NPR about the increase in home births, and someone left this in the commentary. I thought some of you might enjoy it...
I've come up with an "Earth Mother" point system:
10 points for using a doula at a hospital
20 points for refusing pain medication
50 points for home-birth
100 points for giving birth alone in the woods
10 points for every year of breastfeeding past age two (allowing your child to ever drink formula is minus 175 million points)
5 points for refusing to cover during nursing in public
25 points for refusing vaccinations
10 points for cloth diapers
50 points for no diapers
5 points for baby yoga
2 points for using a baby sling
5 points for making your own baby food
15 points for making your own baby food from organic, locally-sourced artisan GMO-free vegetables
Any that I'm missing?
Relax... it's a joke. My wife and I have done most of these.
