WECHSLER PRESCHOOL AND PRIMARY SCALE OF

INTELLIGENCE, 4TH EDITION (WPPSI-IV)

Has your child been identified as gifted? Or do you think he or she may be gifted?

If so, we are looking for children in the age range of 3.6 to 7.6 years to participate in conducting norming sample testing for the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence, 4th Edition (WPPSI-IV).

The time required for the norming test is somewhat longer than with final versions due to the nature of standardizing and statistical requirements. For the very youngest children, it will take from 1.5 to 2.5 hours, and for the older children it will take 2.5 to 3.0. Dr. Ruf gives plenty of breaks and keeps the children very entertained, though, so it really is a very positive experience overall for the children.

Although the scores won't be official (for use in qualifying for any gifted program, for example), Pearson Publishing will share them with Dr. Ruf when the entire process is finished by early autumn 2012. Dr. Ruf will then let you know how your son or daughter did compared to others and what this means.

All families will be mailed a check for $50 in appreciation for their participation.

We are looking for children who have or would likely score above 130 and at the 98th or 99th percentile. If you haven't done previous testing, you can pre-qualify by taking the Ruf Estimates of Gifted Online Assessment, which we will provide at no charge.

All testing is conducted at Dr. Ruf's home office in Golden Valley.

If you are interested in helping ensure the new WPPSI-IV test is good for gifted children, please contact us by emailing helpdesk@educationaloptions.com.
