sleep cycle issue

my 18 week old is more and more waking fully during the light-sleep phase. she's been doing it at night and now her naps are short. she just will NOT stay asleep. of course nighttime is horrible and i barely make it through the day but i was enjoying the 2+ hour naps during the day to sit in the quiet. she won't stay asleep during naps if i am not rocking or patting her bottom(so no napping for me). i have somehow made a mess of things, how do i fix this? 1.how can i get her to sleep through her light time and 2.how can i have her nap without the constant movement? i don't expect her to sleep through the night but she needs to sleep long enough for me to fall asleep and stay asleep awhile. it's making me dysfunctional and i have 3 other kids.

Swaddling and white noise have helped both my boys to sleep a bit better. She is at an age when sleep often goes to hell for awhile. Good luck! Sleep problems suck!
