Weaning and Missed Period

Thread Starter

Hi Ladies,

My daughter self-weaned two weeks ago very abruptly and now my period is 8 days late (it is usually about every 30 days and I have had six since she was born).  Has anyone else experienced this?  Is the sudden weaning the cause?  I have take three pregnancy tests over the past week and they have all been negative.  Any thoughts are appreciated.

No real thoughts, I just didn't want you to go unanswered.

Personally, I would wait another week and then test again.  I don't know how old your DD is, but when I got my period back with DD I had several that were fairly regular and then they really spaced out wierdly (but she was still nursing).

I have heard that pregnancy hormones can cause the milk to change it's taste.  I also know several ladies for whom pregnancy tests do not work so... if you are super concerned you can go get a blood test.  Or just keep waiting it out.  I know, I hate waiting too :)

Just wondered if you ended up getting an answer (either a return of AF or a postive pregnancy test).
