Dangers of using a microwave

I've been thinking we should get rid of our microwave. This adds fuel to that argument.

We stopped using ours a year ago and, I've never missed it.  I store my pot lids in it now.

I've never had one. My mom brought me up without one, and when I went out on my own I never bought one. Life is simpler without it.

Snopes did a piece on this test. They didn't have these results. I'd still like to get rid of my microwave, but my husband isn't supportive of that.

But you can stop using it.  That's what I did.  My DH didn't want to get rid of it, but it turned out once I stopped using it, so did he.  After about a year of it sitting on the shelf unused I pulled it out and stuck it in the basement and he didn't notice for ages.  We haven't had one for years now.

My favorite things about no microwave are not worrying about it and saving the counter space!

 

Oddly, though, family members get sort of annoyed when they want to reheat tea or coffee. We have multiple family members offer to buy us one. irked.gif
