Any environmentally-based schools on Long Island?

I am desperately looking for a school that I don't believe exists in my area, unfortunately. My dream school for DS is a community-based, environmentally-oriented school that fosters stewardship ethics, environmental and community values and incorporates yoga, lots of outdoor space, etc. Is this a pipe dream in the seemingly black hole of progressive education that is Long Island??

have you posted this particular question in the New York "Finding Your Tribe" page? i would think that talking to locals would be your best way to go.  that and maybe look for some other alternative minded schools and ask them if they now about other styles in the area

Just off the top of my head, you might want to look into Sappo School (Rt 112 in Medford, right off LIE) and Love of Learning Montessori (Centerport, on the water).
