Commercial contamination

I am new to this. I am surrounded by  a commercial farm and they are always spraying and use gmo seed. Will this contaminate our garden? Thanks for any info

Yeah, there is a big problem with "drift" and certified organic farms can lose their certification if their is a problem with adjacent farms.  As far as GMO, there was a *huge* lawsuit in Canada regarding pollen drift from canola

As to GMO seed, what are they planting?  Sugar beets?  Not gonna bloom, so no pollen contamination.  The other concern with GMO is that the plant itself can kill insects that are not the target pest, same for pesticides.

And when they plow?  Dust can drift onto your patch.

Sorry to not have any good news for you, but that's the dismal truth.  My grandparents, though owned and lived in the middle of an apple orchard surrounded by clouds of pesticides.  But personally?  I would not feel safe there.

Doesn't sound good to me, either.  A lot of pesticides and GMO's are airborne.  Are you just gardening for you?  You might be able to do raised beds in a green house or hoop enclosure to minimize exposure.  Far from perfect, but might help.  It does require lots more watering, possible bringing in non-contaminated soil, etc.
