I gave birth at 32 weeks last time after dtd the night before and am now 12 weeks and finding that after dtd I get really strong contractions. I'd just like to hear what decisions others have made about intimacy and if you feel dtd can ever push your body over the edge. Has anyone had advice from ob gyn about avoiding it or taken any medicines to calm the uterus down from early on?

I think it's just that no one knows (doctors or the rest of us). Some women are told to avoid DTD and/or orgasm as a precaution, but I don't know if there's any evidence that it helps. Best of luck with this pregnancy, in any case, and I hope you carry to term this time! As an aside, it may be worth asking your doctor about progesterone shots (17P shots), as they have been shown to reduce the chance of preterm labor among women who've delivered early before. I took them for my second pregnancy and carried full term!
