Got blood work done but won't know results until tomorrow. I was wondering what numbers are good? Last time it was about 3000 and change and ended in a loss. Should I be hoping for super high numbers?

Thanks.

The most important thing with HCG is that it rises. The ranges can vary greatly at any given point in pregnancy:

from conception from LMP (mIU/ML or IU/L)
7 days 3 weeks 0 to 5
14 days 28 days 3 to 426
21 days 35 days 18 to 7,340
28 days 42 days 1080 to 56,500
35 - 42 days 49 - 56 days 7,650 to 229,000
43 - 64 days 57 - 78 days 25,700 to 288,000
57 - 78 days 79 - 100 days 13,300 to 253,000
17 - 24 weeks 2nd trimester 4060 to 65,400
25 wks to term 3rd trimester 3640 to 117,000

Thanks Lauren. I don't think they will repeat the beta. My understanding is they'll see about an appointment after.the results come back. Is why I hope for big numbers.

Well that may be an issue.  There's a qualitative beta - HGC in system - yes or no is pregnant or not.  Or a quantitative beta that is done at least twice in serial to check for doubling/increasing depending on the estimated length of pregnancy.

I don't want to bring you down and wish you positive thoughts, but even a very high beta just on its own doesn't necessarily equate to a successful pregnancy.  It wasn't the case for me the 3rd time...

Carson - I'm sorry for your loss. I know having it done twice is supposed to be the way to go but even that doesn't mean squat as mine have doubled perfectly before and I still ended up with losses. It's just the last time I made it this far I had the beta done and it was over 3000 at 9 weeks and the baby had passed at 8weeks.

Well I know it means nothing now but they won't repeat beta after it gets so high. Came back at 19134 which they are happy about so I have an appointment on march 1st. Thanks.

Well that is encouraging.  Good luck at your first appt - mine is Mar 1 too and it seems forever away! :)

Good luck at your appointment, too! They had a cancelation and moved mine to Feb 23rd at 9 am. I told the lady if there was another cancelation sooner to let me know. Lol
