A friend had an amazing homebirth last night...at 41 weeks 3 days....and gave birth to an ELEVEN pound SIX ounce baby boy! Her fourth boy in five years!

I'm just rolling around my house feeling delight for her today, I can't believe how big her baby was! I CAN'T WAIT til it's our turn ladies! YAY!

Wow!!! How inspiring! We're all her babies close to that big, or was this the wild card? My fouth baby was my biggest, It was clear he would be from early in the pregnancy. Oh, I can remember what a joy and a relief it was to have made that journey.

The poor woman was practically DYING of "waiting for baby" sickness...it was so terrible for her this time. She's a really strong, peaceful mama, too...just something about this baby, about it being her last or something...the wait was just excruciating.

This baby is her biggest by about two pounds! She doesn't make them tiny...all three of her previous sons were larger  than my previous two, but she doesn't make them THIS huge usually!

I'm so proud of her. I just wish I could go see her, but it'll be a while because we've been sick with this nasty norovirus and it remains wildly contagious for SO long. :( I want to smell him!!!!!

Go mama!  That's a big boy.  I totally hear you about the baby smell.  I'm SO EXCITED to smell my new baby.  I keep thinking that if I sniff DS at just the right time, I'll catch a whiff of the wonderful baby smell goodness but he just smells like a 2.5 yr old boy.  Not so pleasant. 

I've got a big grin on my face just thinking about what an amazing, strong woman your friend is.

Hahaha...I swear, I still can sometimes catch a faint whiff of baby on my two year old when he is sleeping. Mmmmmmm I just sniffff him right on his head and I swear, I SWEAR it's there!

Your friends birth is amazingly inspiring BroodyWoodsgal. Over Eleven pounds!! I hear you about baby smell. For me newborns are all about baby smell and tiny feet! I could go on and on about how CUTE their tiny feet are. Oof. Is it June yet?

When I was at my midwives this morning a woman came in with a 2 week old adorable baby. I had an (almost) overwhelming urge to go over and cuddle him up. (I didn't think that would go over well but I did gush out how beautiful he was and got a really good look:) 3 1/2 months seems really long right now... I can hardly wait to start nuzzling my own little guy. My almost 4 year old has a lovely smell (mostly) but it is not that eat you up baby smell. I wonder when they lose that? I remember hearing somewhere that the wonderful baby smell was to help parents keep from hurting the newborn  when it is so demanding at the beginning.
