I have nice china in two patterns that my grandmother gave me when she moved. They were never complete sets; I put the dinner plates, dessert plates, and soup bowl in rotation, along with two serving dishes and the teacups/saucers. They are both blue-ish and sort of complement each other, and I'm fine using them, knowing they'll could break one by one just like all our other dishes.
There are a few tubs of pieces that I simply do not need or can't use. I will have to look again -- there may be some nice serving dishes that I might keep a couple of -- but mostly it's extraneous.
I'd like to try to sell it and get some money for it. The pattern is probably 30-40 years old and from Finland, so it's bound to be wanted by someone.
Where would you sell something like this? I hate to think about having to package china up so it won't break. Sounds like a scary prospect, LOL.
I could try Craigslist, but there is no true metropolitan area near us and results there are very hit or miss.
I remember there is a website where you can order individual pattern pieces, but do they buy from people? Has anyone done that?
I'd like to get some money for this if I can. There are a lot of matching pieces, just not pieces I need... They are likely "collectible" patterns...???
