My cats for sure know I'm pregnant. They are always coming over to snuggle with me and just want to lay on my lap. They are usually snuggly cats, but I've just been noticing how they have increased the love lately. Anyone else have something similar happening?
Pets and Pregnancy
One of our dogs has been acting strange for almost a month. Staring at me, following me around. I took my 2 boys out of town about 2 weeks ago and my husband said she was a wreak the whole time. I took a test when we got back in town...so now we know why. When I was pregnant with our second...she stared at me the entire morning before I went into labor. Our other dog is male...not sure if that has anything to do with it...but he just follows her lead.
We called our cat the Fertility Cat, because around the time of ovulation he wanted to knead my ovaries as if he was trying to facilitate my egg to drop. Well we got pregnant that month (January) and now he is known as Fertility Cat. He's been snuggly, not any more or less then before, but sadly just found out he has tapeworms! So now, he is probably feeling very rejected by me as I won't go near him. He has the run of the downstairs and our couch is his favorite place, but now I'm afraid to sit there.
Any one know if Tapeworm is the same parasite that causes toxoplasmosis?
If I'm sitting, my cat is stuck to me. He did this when I was pregnant with DS as well. It's funny now because DS will chase him off my lap and within a minute he's back. He's usually fairly affectionate but not this persistent. We call him the nurse because he seems so in tune to how people in our family are feeling/what's going on with our bodies and takes very good care of us.
