Thanks, Toothfairy!! It really is a beautiful site. I've keep all the positives so far, even the cheapies! Still doing my progresterone of course, and waiting to hear from the nurse about my beta! Please pray for me that this sticks and I that I will have a healthy beautiful baby!

Oh Indie, you are so wonderful to respond so quickly! That does make me feel better. After taking out those wonky temps on my chart that were bizarre (96.8 -- I never, ever am in the 96s) my DPO yesterday went from 12DPO to 11DPO, so I guess we're going with 11DPO? My nurse is going to call me back and let me know what the RE suggests -- I assume retesting. Kinda want to retest blood this afternoon so that I would have the result tomorrow, otherwise I won't know anything until Monday. Thoughts? What would you do? Trying to stay calm and level . . .
Also, here's a question. I checked with a ClearBlue Digital this morning, which is only supposed to be sensitive to 50mIU/hCG, so isn't it weird that my urine has enough hCG to show positive but my blood test was only 21? I guess the urine was this morning and the blood was yesterday, so perhaps that's a good sign in the right direction? Or perhaps my chart showing pregnant tests sensitivities is wrong? I have a chart and it lists CBD as 50.post #1230 of 221910/4/12 at 1:20pm
i think it's a very good sign that you got a positive digital this morning after having a beta of 21 from blood that was taken just last night! that means it's going up up up! i truly don't think you have anything to worry about! you will get another draw tomorrow to see it is doubling, right? you are going to feel much better after you get that second test back but from everything that i have read you by no means are in any kind of danger with a beta of 21 at 11dpo. you can definitely still do a happy dance! :)post #1231 of 221910/4/12 at 1:27pmpost #1232 of 221910/4/12 at 1:28pmpost #1233 of 221910/4/12 at 1:36pmpost #1234 of 221910/4/12 at 1:36pm
If the nurse doesn't call me back soon I'm going to lose it! Of course, they want to base everything off my LMP, which is not helpful at all in this case and I explained as much. I have 45 day cycles, so of course using my LMP is going to make me look wayyyy behind the curve. How are REs not more into charting?post #1235 of 221910/4/12 at 2:24pm
bebe - seriously, why would an RE office of all places not understand long/irregular cycles? isn't that, like, what they do for a living? bebe, i know this has to be the hardest thing for you right now. we always focus on how elated we will be when we finally get pregnant but it's short lived before it gives way to more worry... we just have to keep you calm until you can see that little heart beating on the screen! ooh, yay, we will have more ultrasound pics soon!
ok, my day has now slowed down enough for me to update on my RE appt. hoping i can get some feedback even though i really probably need to get myself over to the IVF thread...
so it looks like (god willing and the creek don't rise) we will be starting IVF at the end of november. before we can start we have to go to an informational session and they only have those once a month. there is one happening next wednesday but i will be out of town. so we will go to the next one on november 14 (and wouldn't you know it, we had regina spektor tickets that night). so if my cycles stay true to form, that means i would be starting my next cycle sometime at the very tail end of november.
this is going to be a long afm so bear with me... the doc was 30 minutes late coming from another office (this seems to be a trend...) he tells us that going to ivf is a good decision because doing clomid and iui cycles puts our chances of pregnancy per cycle in the "single digits", injectables and iui would bump it up to "maybe 14% per cycle" and ivf could give us up to a 40% chance. excuse me while i scream SINGLE DIGITS FOR IUI AND CLOMID??? AND YOU WANTED ME TO DO THREE CYCLES OF IUI AND CLOMID??? that just pissed me off so much. i don't know if you guys remember but after the first cycle failed I called in to ask what the plan was for the next cycle. could we move to injectables? the nurse called me back and said that there would be no change since i responded well to the 25mg of clomid... UGH. my dh was pretty annoyed by that as well. this was the first time the doc ever mentioned percentages to us. so i asked him what protocol he would use with someone in my situation and he said he would do the antagonist protocol with no bcp. i asked about estrogen priming (since i've seen that a lot of low amh women have had more and better eggs with estrogen priming plus antagonist protocol - though i didn't explain my rationale for asking about it) and he said something about since i have normal cycles my uterus should be fine?? i didn't challenge him on it there but after doing more research i realized he must not have understood my question and i talked to the nurse and explained myself and asked her to check with the doc. i should get a call back tomorrow. and for those of you with your REs email address??? be thankful. everything has to go through the nurse at my REs office.
anyway... i'm just really, really nervous. i feel like if i don't stay on top of every little detail that i will just get pushed through with a standard protocol rather than something that is tailored to my specific situation. we just don't have the money to wait and see if the first cycle fails and then make adjustments later... i really want to feel confident that we are giving ourselves the absolute best chance going in.
so now i'm wondering what to do this cycle. i know the cycle before IVF i'll want to go drug free but should i try clomid again this cycle? go back to femara?
after our appt yesterday dh and i broke our diet and went out for fajitas and a margarita. i asked how in the heck did we manage to get pregnant the first time so quickly? he said the only thing he can think of that we were doing differently back then was drinking a lot more so maybe our vegas trip will do the trick and we will get a free baby...post #1236 of 221910/4/12 at 3:28pm
Indie, so this is odd but I re-read this post that I did while at work and realized that a whole chunk is missing! So, let me fill it back in . . .
Indie, yes, I always knew that once I got my BFP it was going to be followed by sheer panic. Alas, it's true! The nurse called me back and was much more reassuring after speaking with the RE. They want to repeat the beta on Monday, so I guess I won't know anything more concrete until Tuesday! I need to start practicing some serious meditations.
So, as for your RE visit . . . ugh! I really do not understand why REs don't seem to take more pride in tailoring programs to their patient's unique set of circumstances! I mean yes, more money for them, but also worse stats when it comes to IVF. I guess the money always wins. Wow, that's cynical, sorry! I've always had to go through my nurse at the RE's office too, which is why I kept switching until I found a nurse who is just awesome! So hmm, I would wait to get your question answered about estrogen priming, but I think the only way to go into IVF is with full confidence that your RE is doing everything they can do for you to ensure success. I would really ask for some more clarification on the protocol and just further explanation. I know how hard it is though when you ask I question and they just look at you like you're questioning them or something. But you know, this is still all very exciting and think about it -- you could be IVF pregnant by Christmas, if not free baby sooner! If you stay on top of your RE and everyone there, I bet everything will be a-ok! Oh, and I found drinking to be hugely helpful in me getting my BFP, ha! Vegas, baby!
As for your next two cycles -- I made the decision to go natural these last cycles because I decided I wanted my ovaries to be as calm as possible prior to serious stimulation, so my plan has been 3 cycles natural until I went on to bigger guns. So I dunno, but maybe try these next two cycles natural and see how it goes? BD every other day from CD10 until confirmed O with pre-seed. Just a thought! I'm excited for your next cycle no matter what you decide!!

Bebe great picture!! And that quant seems fine for so early!! Yay!
Any other late testers hanging in there?
We closed on the house yesterday and drove back to BK getting in at 2am so dh could go to work. I am exhausted and forgot to bring tests with me!!!
Just waiting for af i guess. I really hope its on time or our conjugal visit schedule will be hopeless!
Reading along between running.
Indie...i like the bfp by christmas plan for you. I second that!!
Off now to run around the city....and yeah i saved fmu in a dixie cup in my medicine cabinet just in case i pick up some tests!
Yes...i am a hopeless addict.post #1238 of 221910/5/12 at 8:23am
Sherry, thanks for weighing in! I wondered what your thoughts would be on my beta number. How do other people have such high betas at CD11 -- I've seen people in the 100s or beyond! I *love* that you saved your FMU in the medicine cabinet, haha. What us girls have to do!! Now go get some tests!!post #1239 of 221910/5/12 at 9:01amThread Starterpost #1240 of 221910/5/12 at 9:34am
Haha, test Sherry, test!! (drumroll, please!)
I know, it's kind of crazy to wait until Monday but that's what they wanted to do, so ahhh! I'll just practice a meditative state I suppose. I did see my acupuncturist last night and she did some points to help calm my uterus and keep everything moving in the right direction. Did another CBE this morning - another pregnant so that's good. :) Just hoping, praying and as Indie says, not so patiently waiting!
