Home birth after c-sec

Has anyone here homebirthed after a section? I feel my section wasn't necessary. I think the doc's were very impaitient, but I won't even go there. At any rate my DH and I are going to start trying for number 2 this summer and a homebirth is something we would love. I'm just curious if a midwife would take us on. Thanxs Ladies.

I know a mama that had a homebirth for her fourth child after 2 previous cesarean births. The cesareans were for large babies, but the homebirthed baby ended up being bigger than either of the cesarean-birthed babies! She worked with my midwives, both CPMs and LMs. You may have to search a little longer to find someone, but I think it's entirely possible.

You'll have to find the right midwife though. HBACs (Home Birth After Cesarean) are very common. I know a woman who had 2 C-Sections and 2 HBACs and another who had 3 Sections and 3 HBACs. You can definately do it!

My friend in Seattle just did her second unassisted home birth after a caesaran. No problems, huge babies. There is a website for VBAC's and midwifes that do it.I'll have to look though.

Yes, I am absolutely sure that you can find a midwife take you on! I am planning a hbac this fall (although I already have had one in 2002). I know that my midwife will attend women who have had 2 cesareans at home and its really neat because one of her assistants has personally had 2 cseareans and then 2 hbacs! I bet she gives great support to a VBACer!

Good luck on your search!

I'm planning my HBAC for June! My dd was footling breech and when my water broke, I had a foot presenting. So, I had a section. I have found a wonderful midwife who is very confident in my ability to have a homebirth. Good luck!!

Have you all checked out ICAN?
They have an egroup where many moms come specifically for VBAC support and many of those moms are specifically HBAC,

I attended my friend's HBAC 2 years ago. Here is her story:

I'm planning an HBAC for October!

Find an ICAN chapter, surround yourself with only supportive people, and go for it!
