I'm planning on quitting my job so I can attend classes full-time (switching careers). My biggest concern at this point is that all of our health insurance (for me, DH, and DD) comes through my employer. I know that we can always switch to insurance through DH's employer in November, when open enrollment starts. I'm wondering, does me quitting count as a qualifying life event to enroll in his job's insurance program before open enrollment season?

I believe you have 31 days after a qualifying life change to start up insurance with DH's company. I'd have DH verify with HR just to be safe, but it shouldn't be a problem.
