We are 2 adults, 2 kids and a 50 pound dog in a 1050 square foot home. I actually think it's too big for us! It's 2 bedrooms/1 bath. I think we would be fine in 750 square foot home with a yard. The kids have a super tiny bedroom but I store their toys in small bins that fit under their bunk bed.

I have always wanted an RV as a back up living space in case we had to leave our rental.
post #26 of 273/11/12 at 9:55pmWe are 3 teens, two parents, and 2 dogs - one 85 lbs and one 45 lbs, all in 968sq feet. It's totally doable. you just really figure out needs vs wants. We each have 2 towels and there are 2 sets of sheets for our bed and since each kid has a twin there are 5 sets of twin sheets (in case of stomach bug :-) ). our end table is a dog crate, we stack our full sized front loaders, until last week I owned 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of sneakers and 1 pair of winter snow boots. You learn to creatively store stuff...
post #27 of 273/13/12 at 5:23pmWe are 2 adults, a preschooler, a toddler, a baby, a dog, and 2 cats in 880 square feet. Honestly, two of the three bedrooms are almost empty, because I really really really really like to declutter. The part we actually use probably closer to 600.
My philosophy is that our house is for living in, not storing our stuff.
We also have a bedroom that is wall to wall beds as a family bed, I really like it.
