Here are our next meetings--We'd love to see some Mothering Mamas and Papas there!

February

Whatcha Talkin' About?  The Continuum Concept

When: February 29, 2012  6:30pm-8:30pm

Where: Wade Ave Whole Foods, in the Lifestyle Center meeting room at the back of the Whole Body area

A local chapter member, Kate Davis, is leading a discussion beginning with the book The Continuum Concept, an early work that sparked off the Attachment movement.  While this original work was rather controversial, scientific research has borne out that attachment practices (co-sleeping, babywearing, nursing on demand) do lower stress and increase wellness for babies.  Many of us find that we understood how to parent in an attachment style with our infants, but that maintaining closeness can become a very individualized journey as children age and develop. We will be discussing the parenting resources that help us parent in constructive and harmonious ways.

Whatcha Talkin' About?  Chiropractic for Kids

When: March 28, 2012  6:30pm-8:30pm

Where: Wade Ave Whole Foods, in the Lifestyle Center meeting room at the back of the Whole Body area

Alisha Davis, a local chiropractor who is a Diplomate in Pediatrics and Pregnancy Care, will be coming to talk to the group about the benefits of Chiropractic care for children.  Dr. Davis has a special interest in working with children with neurodevelopmental differences (ie, ADD/ADHD, Autism spectrum, Sensory Processing Disorder), and understands a great deal about how to create wellness and balance in the neurological system for all kids.
