I will be satisfied if any of the following four go this week:
Diana
Jasmine
John Stevens
JPL (my partner thinks it's hysterical that everyone calls him this, even Ryan Seacrest and Randy and Paula)

I will be tremendously happy if the final four end up being
George
Jennifer
LaToya
Fantasia
(hmmm... that would be an all-black final four... interesting...)

but I have a feeling that JPL will be in the final four... grrrr.... did anyone else think he looked pained while singing last night? What a doofus...

And as much as I like Diana and Jasmine, both of them look much more like Disney theme park singers than American Idols.

Its just gotta be JPL, Red, or Diana.......I have a feeling that the 2 guys have a huge fanbase and will get the votes needed to stay till the bitter end.

After last night's show I told dh that there are four people who should stay and four people who need to go (just as Claudia divided them)... and it doesn't really matter what order they go in.

Unfortunately, I doubt it will work out quite as smoothly as that. Not everyone who votes agrees with me, for some reason. :LOL

BTW, I can't wait for Fantasia's CD to come out. It's the only one by any AI contestant (so far) that I will buy.

Fantasia has been my favorite and was amazing last night, but who knows with AI! Jennifer was 2nd best but America is hating on her!!!!!!!! And I have a neighbor who despises Fantasia's voice...go figure...George is ok, but the 2 other guys are horrid. JPL is not attractive and is like the silly guy in HS who made us laugh. The redhead (brain fart here) has a unique voice but it ENDS THERE PEOPLE!! DH said they have to have white people in the final (cause America is like that y'know!!) and those 2 guys are the only 2 white people left. I reminded DH that in this country we call home, POC are allowed to be on top...in MUSIC and SPORTS...Especially anyone identifying as black or Latino...cause it is genetic.. (TONGUE IN CHEEK HERE!!) :



(REMEMBER...we are family of many colors/ethnicities and hear this kinda' crap spewed ALOT!! Sometimes as fact to our faces!!)

See, I like Diana...I like her better than LaToya...LaToya just seems really full of herself to me. She's great, and a better singer than Diana, but she seems very affected.

JPL - :Puke I hope he goes.

I think you have to be somewhat "full of yourself" to make it in that business. You have to be bold enough, confident enough, and of course, have the talent to just get in the door.

One other thought: I thought it was really poignant and sweet how Fantasia was tearing up after she sang and then she said to Ryan that she really felt her song...

And about Simon seeming a bit more mellow or perhaps a little jealous of Tarantino's honesty: apparently the two of them are a mutual admiration society, so maybe Simon was a little starstruck? Wow. First, Simon apologizes to George about calling him a back up soul singer and then Simon is speechless? Are pigs flying now?

I cheated. I'm in Pacific Time, but I couldn't take the agony of another good singer leaving so I checked the chat on idolonfox.com where I learned about a new site called Who Got Voted Off? at www.wgvo.com It's a spoilers site, so be forewarned...

I could not agree more. I died laughing when you said you didn't understand why America does not vote as you do :LOL I feel the same way :LOL

I sing Summertime for auditions ( the traditional opera version) and I was so moved by Fantasias version. I am not one of her fans usually, I think she is good but just not my type of singing, but last night she blew me away. As did Jennifer and LaToya.

I totally agreed with QT about Diana, she was a front runner of mine in the beginning, but the fact is you do need more then just a good voice. I do think with time she can get the emotion that she needs.

Why do you think interesting? Just curious? I think it just is. They are CLEARLY the best singers and if America votes otherwise they are just stupid. I said from the beginning that the three black women rocked the house and if one of them does not win this thing then it is rigged!

I am glad with how this week turned out, the tide is turning for John Stevens, although he was ok this week the voting is now going to start catching up with him. The ppl that voted for the ones that are gone will now switch to the better singers, aka NOT HIM :LOL I was disappointed that he didn't do the Flashdance song though!:

Buhbye JPL (as in Just Please Leave). I'm just relieved that we don't have to listen to him sing "Mandy" next week.

Or "Copacabana" or "I Write the Songs the Make the Whole World (Barf) Sing."

I was surprised, though. I really thought that Diana or Jasmine would be voted off.

ok, so he wasn't the best vocally, to say the least. but i really liked jpl. i'll miss him i think part of it is because my 3 yo loves him so much. when he was in the final two he asked what was going on and i told him that he might go home tonight. ds looked so concerned and asked why. then, after jpl sang and the credits were rolling, ds looked at me, got this huge smile, pumped his fist in the air and said "HE WON!" :LOL

Doggone, now I can hear John Stevens' voice in my head singing that song! I wished he would have been the one to go. I honestly can't imagine him having any kind of record deal. I said to my DP after watching the show (not the results) "The bottom three is going to be JPL, John Stevens and Jasmine or Diana. And if God really loves me, JPL is going home!"
