This week my son puked friday afternoon and friday night, he was fine all day saturday but woke up puking saturday night, fine all day sunday and woke up puking again sunday night. This has been happening on and off for the past few months and every time i take him to the doctors they tell me its a bug thats going around. Im taking him back to the doctors again today and if they tell me the same thing im taking him to the er to see what they say. This is getting a little rediculous. If i have to i will take him to a specialist. Im a 25 yr old single mom and i just dont know what to do anymore. I live in connecticut. Any advice or suggestions?

Hi, sorry I can't be of much help but I hope your little one feels better soon. Does it happen only once at night? Does he have a runny nose, cold or cough?

If he has a cold it coudl just be that when his sinuses drain he swallows the snot and that upsets his stomach. But if he is coughing when he is throwing up I would take him to an urgent care or er right then for the doctors to listen to him.

I hope the two of you can get a good nights sleep soon.

Thank you!! Yes it only happens once at night but his nose isnt runny and hes not coughing either. His doctor told me that its a bug goin around but ive been to the doctors with him more then once with this problem and they keep tellin me its a bug so i finally said no its not a bug i want to know whats wrong with my son, and still got no answers so im gonna get a scond opinion from a different doctor and if i get no answers there them im going to a specialist. I feel so bad for my son because he is only 3 and hes goin through this crap and he shouldnt be.

It's POSSIBLE that it's still nose draining via post nasal drip.  This happened to my daughter for two years straight on and off during the winter (I think she went through it maybe twice).  Her nose wasn't runny during the day and she didn't cough, but what she vomited up clearly had mucous in it.  It usually lasted about a week or less when it happened.

But there IS a nasty stomach bug going around.  I live in IL and have seen it here AND with my friends back home in NJ--which is kind of surreal since we're so far apart.  :/

He might be waking up and sticking his fingers in his mouth or fun or attention or another reason.
