My youngest turned 2 on the 13th. I didn't do a real party for her but I did do cupcakes on the preschool lawn (her older sister's preschool, but there are other babies that hang out there...) and we had cake and ice cream as a family. I felt a little guilty because I really did it up for my oldest on her second birthday, but it was the best I could manage at the time. One of my friends suggested I do a half-birthday party for her instead and I said, "Ha ha, I'll be 39 weeks then..." (Not to mention my oldest turns 6 that week in August!)

I feel the same way. I'm 15w1d and I'm counting the days to my next appt. (3/8) This stretch of waiting between 10w and 16 wk appts is tough! With no symptoms and no perceivable movement for a few more weeks yet, I'm a little anxious too. I can't wait to hear the heartbeat and start feeling this LO move. That'll be such a reassuring feeling! For now I'm trusting that this LO knows what it's doing in there. Hang in there, mama!

They'll never remember their 2nd birthday.

You know what my under 1's get for christmas their first year? a box of kleenex. (A couple other things but the kleenex is always a hit.)

we haven't done any birthdays for DS yet, he is almost 2.5 now..

I will probably do something for his 3rd later this year but for his first and second birthday we did nothing (we were on a plane all day actually for his last one!!) Those 'early' birthdays, in my opinion, are 100% for the parents, not for the child..
