Weekly Chat February 20-26 - Page 3

Just got one to respond/type and now I hear dd4 stirring.  But couldn't wait to share somewhere, but I ordered on Old Navy a few maternity/nursing tops, one dress, and lots and lots of baby socks (I LOVE the triple-roll baby socks! I tie dye a lot of them too!).  I couldn't resist the sale prices AND the extra 15% off of the already sale prices. Hoping I'm not jinxing anything (and as I was thinking that, my stomach suddenly felt like hurling... I think the nausea comes and goes enough to figure things are still baking well!).  Ack. She's up. Off to tend to her.

I am soooo jealous of you, judybean.  I sat down to order at 1130 and was so tired I couldn't make any decisions. :(  I was also tired enough to say, "They will have another sale before it warms up."  But, now, I am not so sure.  lol.  Anyway, congrats on your good buys! :)

They have sales every few weeks. They'll definitely have another!  And actually, the 15% off sale prices doesn't end til today.

I also ordered a couple things from ON yesterday. I needed a few tops for winter/spring all my warmer stuff is too big since DS was a January baby. I also got DS some jeans and a big brother tshirt.

I am hoping the next weekish goes by fast, I am really anxious to hear/see the heartbeat again.

Woohoo! Ultrasound went well.  I'm measuring 10w5d, so just about on track.  She said my placenta is posterior, so FX it stays that way!

WindyCityMom!  What a sweet ultrasound pic!  :)  How reassuring to see a little baby in there! :)

WindyCityMom - That is the most precious thing I've ever seen. Congrats!

!!! WCM- How sweet! And thank you for sharing- we're right at the same point in our pregnancies, so what a trip to see that and realize that it's more or less what I've got going on, too.

AFM- I need Old Navy help! I don't usually shop at ON but did order some maternity stuff late last week. I had no idea how they size, whether things are usually smaller/roomier/whatever, and I ended up with a bunch of stuff I'm swimming in (it's a size off, but feels like a big difference, and more so in some styles than others). My question is- do I hold onto the biggest stuff because it might work later on, or ship it back? I know we all gain and grow differently, but any insight you all could provide is much appreciated. (Do maternity pants in general just feel.. weird, a little dumpy, or is this probably a fit or style thing?)

WCM beautiful pic!  Love the little knees and legs!

Hyde - I do feel like some maternity pants are just a little dumpy in the front when you don't have a big belly.  Although I also have some that fit just fine throughout. Honestly, I felt like Gap maternity fit so much better than Old Navy but it's so expensive in comparison.  It's weird that they are the same company but fit differently.  I know most Old Navy stores don't actually carry their maternity line but if you have a regular store near by, I think you can return your order to the store so you don't have to pay return shipping if you decide not to keep what you got.

I actually find that the reviews on Old Navy are pretty helpful - not necessarily the comments but the ratings people give based on whether something is true to size.  I have my eye on a pair of yoga pants and tons of people noted that they run big so I think that will help me pick the size.

WCM- That is an AWESOME pic!

Thanks everyone!  I was super excited.. I didn't know there were KNEES yet!  I thought that there were still just leg buds!  I can tell you though that this kid doesn't have elbows yet lol.gif We saw the flippy little hands wiggling.

oops sorry!

Hyde: I can tell you that things that fit my size right now in pregnancy are too tight by the end of pregnancy because i grow in my hips too (and from what i hear most momma's do). It's definitely your call. But my pants that are a size too big right now, are tight by the end.

Jodie: I'm sorry about your reunion. It's so frustrating! I would just say not worry about it. If you can't do it without compromising your sanity, i would say it has to go!

Old Navy: I'm nervous to buy stuff online. I want some Gap pants but they are SO DARN EXPENSIVE!!!

AFM: Can i complain? I am so upset. I posted my "I need help with my toddler" over in gentle discipline and i got one mother who just RAILED into me. Treated me like dirt. Like i was the worst mother in all the world and i should practically have my kids taken away. It really hurts. And she assumed the worst and as SO off on how i mother. I am a fabulous mother (not to sound prideful) but i know that i am good i just want to be BETTER! Shouldn't i always be trying to improve? Anyways, it really really hurt and i am just ready to cry.

Anyways, off to go make dinner. And sulk. Actually, i kinda feel like in a "SCREW YOU" mood. Not good. I think i'll put on some calm music and play with my darling boys. You can't make everyone love you? (or not judge you unfairly gloomy.gif)

Kelantan: I just checked out the thread in Gentle Discipline.  Wow.  She was way out of line.  Even if you were "that kind of mother," and I didn't get that from your post here at all, she is inappropriate in being so outright judgmental and critical.

AFM: had a pretty good day!  DH was watching DD and I actually got tons done despite the MS.  We're propagating berries in the greenhouse right now, and I got some baby spoons listed on etsy if anyone wants to check them out: http://www.etsy.com/listing/93692262/sweet-baby-spoon-in-beautiful-curly

Beautiful spoons and the kale looks lovely too!  Did you grow that yourself?  How do you like to prepare it to eat?  I love making kale chips but been slack and disorganized lately and never seem to have all the ingredients at the same time.

Thanks!  Yes that's our kale.  It's been such a mild winter the kale is still completely alive in the garden.  My mom loves to make kale chips, but I've never gotten around to it myself.  We usually add kale to things rather than fixing it on it's own.  It's great in soups, spaghetti sauce, stir-frys, curries, whatever needs a little extra dose of veggies.
