Fertility diet?

Thread Starter
I'm curious what your thoughts are on diet and fertility. I have been a vegetarian for 15 years and tend towards veganism. However (as I posted in the fertility forum) it took me 27 months to get my cycles back after #1 and I had a miscarriage, so my first 2 are 5 years apart. I don't know if diet is to blame, but I also tend to be slightly underweight or close to it. (currently around a bmi of 18.6)

I'm currently nursing my 18 month old and still am waiting on my cycles returning.

Can you point me to any diet related info that might help? Thanks!

Hi there-

There is tons of info on diet and fertility, mostly just to eat whole foods, in the natural form, lots of protein and veggies and fruit... not as much carbs.

Me, I was vegan and tried for 2 years to get pregnant, I started eating dairy and eggs and got pregnant maybe 7 months later.  I started eating meat when DD1 was 16 months old and got pregnant that next cycle..... I don't know if it is a coincidence, but I don't think veganism was healthy for me...
