1sttimemama, I had a similar experience to what you described above but it wasn't even in a dream state. I'd like to start off by saying I too am not a person who is religious but I am always open to an experience of the spiritual nature which from time to time has come to me in all sorts of ways. My son is now 11 but on the night I conceived him we SPOKE, and I too knew he was a boy. It is of course extremely hard to explain such an experience but basically after his father and I made love (we were not trying to conceive) I was laying there awake and this voice, although not audible even to my ears, began communicating with me. We communicated for a long time about very in depth things but by the end of it the only message of his I was able to take away with me was "No matter what, Mom, know that I will always be ok." Then a cold wave of air touched the right side of my body and began penetrating the rest of me. It settled into my abdomen area and the left over energy continued on through to my left side and exited. Of course, I knew instantly I was pregnant and weeks later it was confirmed. I'd like to share that my son is the most empathetic person I have yet to meet. He also demonstrated early in life the abiltiy to "create". Once when my husband and him were on a road trip together, my son who was 4 at the time "wished" to see several out of the ordinary things and they all appeared and all this took place within a 30 minute period. The first was they stopped to get out and pee along side a wooded, forest road. My son said, "Dad, I really wish I could see wolf." So trying to be funny my husband began to howl. When he stopped they heard a reply howl, looked out into the field across from them and there stood a wolf. They got back in the car and my son said, "Dad it would be really cool to see a rainbow." And wouldn't you know it the storm that they had been driving through had stopped minutes before and now there in the sky ahead of them was a rainbow a minute after he said it. My husband by this time was in shock and disbelief when my son says, "My favorite bird is a Bald Eagle." My husband explained that eagles are rare to see these days when suddenly one flew over them and landed in a tree beside the road so they could stop and observe it for a moment. What I'm coming to is I think you have an incredible child within you with an amazing connection to you and the universe. I've always felt extremely blessed to have this boy in my life. Don't feel "kooky". Just enjoy. It is not your job to convince others of your experience.
