Trader Joe's deodorant has some BAD ingredients! - Page 2

The corn starch mitigates the irritation of the baking soda and also absorbs extra moisture, so I use it in mine. I do equal parts coconut oil, baking soda and corn starch (1/8 cup each would make a good small batch to test with) and I also add a few drops of lavender essential oil. It smells so lovely! I've also used shea butter as the oil, and it makes a nice creamy texture but I didn't care for the scent. Anyway for the person who was concerned about the oil factor, I think putting coconut oil on your pits is way better than a standard commercial deodorant--it's not oily like olive oil. It's actually really good for your skin...my skin soaks it up like a nice moisturizer.

What about crystal deoderant? I am allergic to propylene glycol and have used the crystal deoderant before.
