AP friendly therapist, counselor or something of the sort

I am just looking for a therapist or counselor for me, not marriage or couples counseling. I really prefer someone who, when I talk about issues of me not getting sleep doesn't tell me my children should be sleeping in their own beds, I shouldn't be nursing my 13 month old who isn't eating very much, etc. Any one have someone they might have heard of? I am in MD, and willing to go to Frederick, Carroll and Howard counties. Montgomery county too depending on area. Thanks

Although any good therapist should support you in doing what YOU want to do (well, ya know, within reason! & co-sleeping & BFing at 13 mos are well within reason.) Therapist should help you meet YOUR goals, and if co-sleeping & BFing until child-led weaning are your goals, (Among others, of course) they should help you fit those into your life, not discourage you from doing them.

I am guessing you've already found a counselor but I thought I'd say hi anyway. So hi! I am actually opening a new private practice in Towson. I have over 10 years of experience working with families and I know first hand that motherhood isn't always spectacular. I haven't slept more than 6 hours a night myself in days because of my 9 month old but my experience really comes from working with families who have kids who act out. I am a big supporter of breastfeeding for as long as it is mutually beneficial. I had a home birth with Evelyn Mulhan that turned into a C-section this summer. Her umbilical cord was just too short.
