Baby girl is finally firmly head down. It has been over a week of foot movement at the top. My midwife confirmed that she is head down mid-week and said her head is pretty low into my pelvis, so she was confident that she will stay put now. YAY!

Yep, we got confirmation that kiddo is still head down this week. (I could have told the MW that, since I'm getting so many kicks to the ribs)

Here's to babies staying in the right position! *clinks glass*

My baby is a stubborn one!  I'm 36 + 2 and still breech.  Looks like we'll be headed for a version this week =(.  I hope it works!

Oh Lord - I hope you give it another week before you decide on having one. Have you had one before? I had one last pregnancy at 38 weeks.

I'm going for a consult tomorrow.  We're going to do an ultrasound to make sure there is no physiological reason she's not turning.  We didn't have this problem last time.  I'm nervous b/c midwives cannot do breech births here and I don't want to end up with a section.  My first baby was 9 lbs at birth so we don't want to wait too long.

Praying it goes smoothly for you and is as stress free as possible, definitely let us know what happens!

Try not to worry too much. My 3rd baby was breech until 37 weeks. We went in the day before the version and had a u/s to confirm he was still breech and then I went home and had a stern talking to him, threatening him with a version the next day. We went into the hospital to do the version the next morning and low and behold he had turned! I think my dates may have been off by a couple weeks, too...is that a possibility? If so, there's a chance that baby is just a late turner.

I'm going in for an ECV consult and ultrasound on Thursday (37 wks), too.  Babe was definitely breech at 35 weeks not cooperative in determining position last week (36 wks).  I *think* I felt a big flip and a butt near my ribs today, though, so I'm holding out for a head-down baby.  No homebirth for me if babe is breech, so we'll be trying an ECV, too, if he or she is still breech.  Fingers crossed for you!

The appt. went well.  Baby is still breech (frank) but she wants to wait another week and a half before trying the version.  She said with 2nd (or more) time moms she likes to wait until about 38 weeks to see if the baby will flip on her own.  So we're scheduled for next Friday unless she flips herself.  She also said I'm a great candidate for a vaginal breech birth which would be my next option.  We are currently seeing a CPM who I would like to stay with but she cannot legally do breeches.  I'll take a hospital breech birth over a section any day though.  Hopefully she'll just flip and we can go on with the original plan!

I hope she flips for you. If she doesn't  a vaginal breech birth would be the way to go IMO. I had a version done at 38 weeks with my son.  I still ended up with a c-section because he ended up being OP and the version itself is no picnic. I did not have the option of going for a vaginal breech birth. If I had I totally would have taken it no matter where I had to deliver. I am praying she decides to cooperate and flips for you soon and you won't have to even decide what to do!

I saw the midwife today and it looks like she flipped for me a few weeks ago when I felt that big movement!

I hope everyone gets their little ones to move!

I agree! I had already decided early on that there was no way that I would have a cesarean for a breech and luckily my midwives do breech homebirth (but state law won't allow them to do it in the birthing center unless birth is imminent upon discovery) AND I have a university hospital in my city that is doing a breech study and taking breech patients from other practices who want to birth vaginally. I think that a lot of times women end up with a cesarean because they are given no other option and that makes me sad because breech birth is really not dangerous usually and IMO not cause for cesarean alone. So if you are given the option, I think that is wonderful!!!

Woohoo for flipping babies!  When I went for my ECV consult on Thursday, Rowan had flipped to head-down and was very low.  Hopefully no more flipping from this point!  Makes me feel better about all the time and money I've spent at the chiropractor in the last couple of months :)  Sending good energy for other babies to flip or for healthy breech deliveries.

I KNEW those babies would flip! Now, I'm working on mine getting into an anterior position! HA!

So glad the babies are flipping!  Now they just need to stay that way!  goodvibes.gif

Had my MW appointment today, I'm 37 and 4.  Baby is still breech (which I was pretty sure of anyway).  Version scheduled for Friday morning at 7am.  Wish me luck!

I'll be thinking of you on Friday and sending somersault vibes to your baby! Have you considered getting some acupuncture today or tomorrow to up the chances of baby turning? It can really be helpful.

Good Luck!

Breech here at 35 weeks. Just had an awesome conversation with a woman whose baby didn't turn head-down until her water broke at 42 weeks (first-timer.) I was feeling so anxious/defeatist and then I thought, hey! most of these bambinos end up exactly how they're supposed to!

TRUE! I had one that didn't go head down until 37 weeks. There's time!
