Wow, Hello Mothering.com..it has been a long, long time

It has been years since I visited these boards.......So much has happened in my life since I was last here....

I lost my mother...

I now have six grandchildren( Garreth, Violet Starr, Noah, Sullivan, Marley and Carter) with another joining our family in the fall..

I have divorced

Opened a cafe

Fell in love~with man who also raised his boys in an AP/Unschooling family..

I have started painting again

Was actaully checking out the diaper site with my daugher Kait, who had her first baby almost six years ago and is now expecting her third..and thought I would say hello..

Life is sweet...

It is good to drop in and say hello..Keep raising your children with love, dignity and respect....It is the hardest job you will ever do...It can exhaust every cell in your body...push you to limits you did not know you had...You will cry, scream and wonder if you can actually do it all....But I promise you....One day, sooner then you think, you will look back and know that it was worth everything..

The other day I was standing at the sink washing dishes for 43,987th  time and out of the corner of my eye I saw a little  red headed girl~ wearing fairy wings, a tutu and cowboy boots...I finished washing, rinsed and dried and when I turned around she was standing there, on her iPhone, with keys in her hand....GROWN...

Enjoy them, listen to their whispers, smell their hair..and try to remember it all..

Blessings and peace,

Granolamom

As a brand new mom, this was one of the best things I could've read this week. Thanks for posting it. :-)

Howdy!  Thanks for the update. :)  Congratulations on all your grandchildren.  I think the last time I saw you here, you only had 2.

Just teared up, dear.

Is it because I'm 7dpo and AF around the corner or because my oldest baby just walked out the door for a road trip across the country approximately three minutes ago?  Life, life, life, wow, wow, wow.

Thank you Granola.

Me too... and I *KNOW* it's because I'm 11 weeks pg and very very hormonal... so now I'm crying at my laptop...

Thanks for a beautiful reminder after a very trying day with a toddler.

So nice to see your name! I am just visiting again too, I just went and checked to see HOW long and I haven't been a regular poster since '05. I thought I'd come check out the state of things. :)

Hi dear friend!!! It's so nice to see you again! Thanks againf for sharing your words of wisdom and support when I was first on my journey of mommyhood.

I too don't come around to MDC much anymore-- life has taken me in other directions. Congrats on the grandbabies. I hear you about them growing up so fast. My dd1, who was very new when I joined MDC, is now 11 and on the brink of adolescence, has braces, and her relationship with her friends is taking precedence over her relationships with her family members. As is very normal at that age. My wee one who was so sickly is now doing great, is 8 years old and a wonderful young lady.

I graduated from nursing school a year ago today and am working at a children's hospital full time.

Wow!  It's nice to hear from you!  I can't believe it has been *6* years since Kait had her baby!!!  I remember when she got her own account, and began participating in the forums!  Congratulations to her (and you) on the upcoming new babe!
