Does anyone have any great recommendations for a midwife anywhere from the Savannah, GA to Jacksonville, FL area?  Would do home birth or birth center birth.  Also doula recommendations welcome!

Thanks!

My sister used to live in St Mary's, Ga. She visited this BC when she was pregnant. http://www.fruitfulvine.com/ She ended up using a hospital-based CNM that was with her insurance, but I know she had several friends who birthed there and enjoyed it.

And my understanding is that Savannah has the only birth center in the state....http://themidwifegroup.com/ .

I'm sure there are HB midwives, but I don't live down there, so I don't know of any. Good luck!

I had my baby at Fruitful Vine and in my opinion it is the best choice in this area for birth. They do homebirths and accept most insurances.

As for doulas...I am a doula in training with Birth Arts International. Feel free to PM me if you are interested in speaking further about my doula services.
