Hi Guys, Im 6 weeks and 5 days...yesterday i noticed that whenever i wiped, the discharge had a very very light pinkish tint...I went to the toilet at aroun 4am today...and i saw blood on my TP...i wiped again and there was more watery sort blood. Then at 7am..it became all brown...every time im wiping..my TP is stained with brown discharge...my lower stomach feels kinda tight/sore....but its not bad tho...im freakin out seeing the brown discharge...is it normal? My midwife appointment is only due next thurs...im not sure of what to do.... :(

I'm sorry this is happening. It can be really scary to see the blood. From what I understand, some people have spotting in early pregnancy and everything is okay.  I had a tiny bit early on, and the nurse told me It can be a sign of miscarriage if it keeps getting heavier and is accompanied by cramping. If it doesn't stop, would you be able to contact your MW or doctor to have things checked out and settle your fears?  It sounds to me, because it's going from pink to brown, that it's stopping, but you have to do what you need to do to help calm your anxiety.  Best of luck! Keep us posted.

I had very similar spotting at around that time. It went away and hasn't come back yet. I'm eight weeks today. Here's hoping you have a similar situation. It was very disconcerting.

I have had spotting, too. It is normal, so long as it doesn't get worse. I would call your midwife and let her know. Ask her about having your progesterone checked. My midwife said mine was low and put me on a supplement. I've only been on it for about 4 days but I haven't noticed spotting in a week or so.

Thank you ladies for all you advices and sharing your experience...really appreciate it.

Had spotting on fri and sat all day long....called my midwife, she said not to worry unless i've severe cramping pain and bleed fresh blood. The earliest ultrasound i could get was next monday since they felt there was no urgency in my case...no spotting on sunday n monday....

I started gettin this sharp poking pain on my right lower abdomen since monday mornin..which lasted for a gd 15mins...n got that same pain in the evening and in the middle of the night....i started spotting again. I went to the gp first thing today morning...she arranged for an immediate ultrasound...thank god all looked fine...n they couldnt find a reason for my sharp pain and spotting...but m just really relieved. Thanks ladies for all ur quick responses.

Sanity, I get those sharp pains, too. I get them all over my abdomen, though and they don't feel like cramps, per se. I think that when it's not gas (which is frequent for me), it's just my insides shifting around and stretching. They say that pains indicating a problem can be sharp or more cramp-like, though so keep staying vigilant but try not to worry too much. hug2.gif

SANITY - It is super scary to be bleeding, but it is normal for some women.  If you are really worried, keep bothering your Dr and ask for another ultrasound.  I know for me it is so reassuring to see that little heartbeat.  I will keep your little one in my prayers!!
