I bought this doppler: http://www.clinicalguard.com/sonoline-handheld-pocket-fetal-doppler-p-174.html - It works really well and there are a ton of youtube videos about it - they will teach you how to use it properly.

Since I will only have 2 ultrasounds during my pregnancy I needed some reassurance after my last loss. I get it... totally

Many of you do have dopplers, how neat!  I do hear the heartbeat regularly at my appointments.  If I had to go 4 or more weeks between appointments I could see getting a doppler.  It might be different if I could feel baby but still am not feeling movement regularly at all, have only felt it for sure about 3 times and I am 18 weeks today.   And chasing the little 2ndtri.gif around with a light?  LOL!?

Boots, lol at 100% wrong, the only percent you can be.  I am right there with you as I also am just sure it is a boy.  Even though my dreams, DH, Chinese gender chart, and anything else says girl.  I will find out soon enough.

Well in the end I am going later today for an u/s.

Dh took ds to well baby and asked the nurse (whom I know well & trust) if it was normal not to have movement yet. She said it can be, but if an u/s will make me feel better, she could refer me to one.

I'm not sleeping well and stressing during the day, so hopefully after today I will be able to relax.

Yesterday I felt some cramping on the left side where I know the baby is. But still nothing I really can tell is movement. Sigh.

Is it normal at this point (17 wks) to have thought you felt movement and then go a couple days without those feelings? I have an anterior placenta and I wonder if my uterus moving forward & up is making it more difficult to feel stuff (what I thought I felt was pretty low). Or maybe I was imagining things before. Or I'm dismissing them now. I just keep going to the worst case scenario.

2 more days til we get to listen for the heartbeat again... Hopefully I can stay sane until then!

Totally normal!  I was talking to my midwives at my appointment a few weeks ago (at 17 weeks) and I said that sometimes I thought I was feeling the baby move, but then several days would go by with no movement so I must be wrong.  And they said it was very typical at this stage to feel the baby move and then not feel anything for days.  Now I'm 19 weeks and I feel him or her in there breakdancing at least once a day :)

Totally normal even if you don't have an anterior placenta, and since you do, even more normal.

I felt it a few weeks ago, and then nothing at all until I was in church Saturday night.  And then only during service.  So I'd say it's normal.

I felt something twice last week and then nothing since.  So either I was making it up (it really seemed like baby movement) or it's totally normal to go a while.  I get to hear the heartbeat tomorrow, which will take away some of my craziness.  Glad to know someone else is in the same boat.

Same here. I think I felt some movement on Friday and nothing since. I'm so looking forward to my appt this Thurs! I can't wait to hear the hb again. I've been putting off making any purchases, I just feel like I need the reassurance that all is well. I'm surprised by how much you really do worry! I'm SO not a worrier typically. I guess noone is immune to the mommy worries. shrug.gif I'm so happy we're all getting to the fun stage, yay for movement! luxlove.gif

Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I mean, I wish we were all feeling reassuring things daily, but if we have to wait a little longer for that, at least we can worry about it together!

Speaking of being nuts, my doctor just called 15 minutes before my appointment to tell me that another patient is in active labor and so we have to put off my appointment until tomorrow.  ARGH!  I know it's not a big deal and obviously active labor people are the number one priority, but I was really really really really looking forward to hearing the heartbeat because I haven't been able to feel any movement in days.  I just wanted some reassurance.  I also basically scheduled my whole day around this appointment, so it's going to throw my whole week off.  Oh well.  I'll just be insane for another 24 hours, I guess.
