How do you find adoption professionals?

How do you find therapists or councelors that specialize in adoption related issues?

Things like behavior evaluations, attachment therapy, etc? Thank you

It is very hard here in MA.  Even in a adoption through the state, we had a hard time finding the right therapist.  We finally found one through Boston's Children's Hospitals.

Thats an "anti attachment therapy" website.

Obviously one would want to be careful about the kind of therapy a child is getting.

But attachment therapy is essential in helping a child with attachment issues heal.

I believe my daughter has some level of attachment disorder. Regular therapy is doing NOTHING for her. At least her therapist gets she has issues...her previous therapist was even more ineffective in that she clearly "felt sorry" for my daughter, and allowed my daughter to totally manipulate her. Thankfully she only lasted a brief time.

The website posted criticizes noted adoption experts such as Deborah Gray, Gregory Keck, and Dan Hughes. These are some of my favorite authors of books on adoption.

I actually found my therapist through the psychologytoday.com website - they have a "find a therapist" feature where you can narrow it down by adult vs. adolescent, the type of therapy (emdr, trauma, cbt, etc.), even the type of insurance you have and it indicates if they work on a sliding scale.
