Weekly Chat - Feb 27 to March 4 - Page 2
Oh my goodness, DS just fell asleep for bed without nursing, at all!!! This has never happened, ever. He won't go to sleep for anybody but me. He only just started falling asleep alone in the bedroom a month or two ago, but only with lots of cuddling and nursing before I leave. Tonight, we read books like normal and then I left him to heat up a rice pack because I was cold. I came back in expecting to nurse him, but he was too busy playing with a little toy, so I told him I was going to clean up and I'd come back when he was ready to nurse, except he just fell asleep! I would really love a break from nursing before new baby comes, but I didn't want to push him too hard. Maybe I won't have to!
Angelorum, thanks for the pelvic floor info. I hope you get the reprieve from BFing before the new LO comes!!
FemmeKnitzi, sorry to hear about that. I don't know anything about smoothmoves tea. Sorry! :( I drink a yogurt, fruit, and fruit-juice smoothie every morning, and I'm pretty sure that's what's keeping me regular. If you need to, you could even add some fibre mix to it, like Metamucil or something.
Oh, I had a crying fit last night. DP is an ER nurse at the hospital, which is really close, and her walk home is about 5 minutes. They were hit hard with multiple emergencies last night and she stayed later to help them out, but didn't call me to let me know. I'm in bed but sleepily half waiting up for her. When she's 45 min late, I start worrying and calling her cell phone, which of course she doesn't answer because she's still working. Finally, I call the hospital to ask when she left and they say she hasn't. When she gets to the phone, I'm bawling. I'm so upset that she didn't think to call, and relieved that she's okay. It took me forever to settle down, and I still didn't get to sleep until she finally gets home an hour and a half later. It was a huge overreaction, which I'm blaming on all these hormones. I slept in a bit today, and I feel like a bag of crap still, but I'm now laughing at the whole emotionally-heightened situation.
Ouch! My groin! I exercised yesterday. I thought it was pretty light. As I usually do, I just used Wii Fit and did some strength training and some simple cardio. As soon as I woke up this morning, the right side of my groin and down my thigh was so painful, and it's been bad all day. I know about the ligament loosening and stretching and I thought I was being careful, but I guess not careful enough.
Aside from rest and ice, anyone have any suggestions? If you had this before, how long did it last? Thanks!!
HI guys, I'm a bit too nervous to join in but, what the heck! I am 8 weeks and 3 days. I had a scan at 6 weeks and 5 days but I've recently had two missed miscarriages so to say I'm scared would be somewhat of an understatement. I have a second scan tomorrow. Please send good thoughts.
Would love to know more about you guys! Perhaps we can do a share 3 things post?
Hope I get to stick around.
My 1st pregnancy was a missed miscarriage. The baby stopped growing at 8 weeks, I had a D&C at 13 weeks (I know its not a popular decision on this board to do a D&C but I was showing signs of infection and couldn't mentally deal with being pregnant with a baby that was no longer there for a day longer). I'm a stress case until I see the heart beat on the monitor for the first time. I'm glad that Ive had some really nice family practitioners and midwives do my first appointments because they were willing to do the ultrasound first so I knew everything was alright with the baby before doing the rest of the appointment. Or maybe they just realized I was close to tears and didn't want to deal with a crying woman.
This time I'm around 9 weeks right now and I haven't even registered my pregnancy with the hospital yet. I know I need to, just need to find the time.
Three things about me
1) I have 3 children already, ages 5, 3 and 1. I adore being able to stay home with them. We home school so I'm with them 24/7.
2) My husband is active duty military (Marine Corps) and is gone a lot. We also live a ways away from family (which is a good thing in a way since they aren't supportive) so I have little or no support around here. So, if I bring my pregnancy problems to you all I'm sorry! I just really have no one else to come to talk to.
3) I'm a veteran myself but no one would guess that. I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps, got out when my oldest daughter was 4 months old. I miss it but I love raising my babies. No one believes it when I tell them though since they tell me I'm "to nice" to have served. Ive had to bring in my discharge certificate to prove it to people before. I think its amusing and I love busting stereotypes..
Hi y'all. I'm almost 6 weeks & have had intense nausea for the last 2 weeks. Waves and waves, but never vomiting. The last pregnancy was mild, so this is new to me. Super tired and not getting much done.
I cannot get enough orange juice and have been craving vegetarian bean burritos (with the works!). When it comes to actually eating much, though, there is not much luck. Snacking seems to make the nausea worse. And that trick about keeping crackers close by? Blech. hehehe Not working for me.
I imagine there must be lots of mixed feelings when your kids are older, Sonja. Hope you come back around to the excitement feeling soon.
I'm going to start up this week's chat thread. Head on over to it here: http://www.mothering.com/community/t/1347027/weekly-chat-march-5-11#post_16901212
