I realized something kind of cool today. I've been trying to get in a lot of strength training lately. I've been doing pilates with weights, and doing a couple of strength training videos lately. At first I was doing a pair of 3 lb hand weights, then those got too easy so I went up to 5 lbs, and now those are getting easy as well, so I need to get a pair of 7lbs. I knew my arms were getting more toned. But I was taking out the trash and doing chores today and I realized that I'm actually getting stronger, as in, I can lift heavy stuff more easily. It made me feel super happy.

I need to find a more reliable calorie counter for this. According to myfitnesspal, this burned 476 calories. The only stroke I have success with is backstroke and I wasn't going that fast!
eta-This says 290. That's a much greater reward than piddling around on the tm and bike. Def be back in the pool! http://www.dietandfitnesstoday.com/calories-burned-swimming.php
Jen - Congrats on working up to the 7 lb weights!
