Just wanted to check in and see how our beautiful babies are growing! I've been MIA due to being back at work full time, and barely having time to shower, let alone carous Mothering.com with you all! Kai is just about to be six months, is close to sitting unassisted, wants desperately to walk, and has only launched himself off the bed twice... sigh. Still BF like a beast, starting to much on avocado and sweet poatato, and screaming all.the.time!! Anyone elses baby have a crazy set of lungs? Here's a pic of Kai a couple of weeks ago, the hair is getting out of control!

Oh my gosh, he looks awesome, just beautiful and so healthy and thriving! I have been thinking about you two and wondering how you are doing!!

I'm glad to hear you are adjusting well to life back at work! Kai sure looks like a happy guy.

Okay, I  updated with a pic of Luke. He just turned 5 mos last week. He's been working really hard on getting his bottom front tooth or teeth and hasn't been sleeping great because of it, poor guy. Milestone wise, he's been working quite casually on rolling over, he has all the mechanics to do it and just isn't that interested! So funny. He's more interested in all that is going on around here with two older siblings and chatting it up. He has such a repertoire of sounds and is quite expressive. He will have to be a chatterbox like the other two in order to get a word in! Haha. He's also still a smaller guy at just about 16 lbs at 5 mos. He hasn't been measured for awhile but I'd guess he's around 27 inches long. He loves the baby carriers now and is doing a lot better in the carseat, as long as he's not tired. Yay!

I kinda photo bombed, but I couldn't pick just one.  G will be 6 months on Mar. 9th and we'll be doing a half-birthday for him since my mom is coming to visit.  Should be fun!  The boy is growing like a weed.  We haven't taken him in for any well-baby visits; we just haven't seen the need.  He rolls around on the floor and has lots to say to everyone.  He's starting to find things funny so he'll actually laugh if he thinks what you're doing is funny.  He's about 18 lbs now not sure of length, but he is has been in 6-12 month size clothes for the past couple months.  Things are starting to normalize in our household.  It's taken a bit longer integrating the 4th into the household.....kids are great with him, it's just doing day to day household things that had been a bit challenging.  Love being a family of 6.  It's such a nice, even number......

This is Isaac, born 9/25/11 at 43 weeks.  He took his time getting here and was well worth the wait.  Hobbies include starting to sit unassisted, playing with feet, throwing toys for Mommy to pick up and nursing like a champ.

@mae14 - do you swaddle your son's arms for naps?  I always thought this was just for tiny babies, but our daycare puts Isaac down this way and he seems to really love it.  I never would have thought to do it.

I guess I need to get on board here! Chloe is 6 months now, sitting unassisted with the occasional topple. Hates tummy time so I dont push and would rather be worn or carried all day! She recently started squealing and eating avocado, mango, asparagus and banana! Some mush, some blw. No teeth!!! Here she is a couple of days ago with her big brother!

oh - love talking about my baby!!  And seeing how all of your's are doing!  So cute!!  

My little Indigo is just now 6 months old. She is sitting unassisted, pulling herself up occasionally, she will probably skip traditional crawling so she can walk sooner. She demanded food at 4 months, loves to gum toddle cookies, apples and pears the best. I've actually started putting food on the spoon and handing it to her - she gets it right in her mouth.  We are pretty sure she has mastered two signs - dog and bath. Always talking, always wanting to know everything that is going on.  Has had a couple teeth for a while and is working on more. 

We started daycare about a month ago and she has been very sick since. Right now, we are waiting to see if she caught chicken pox. Because of being sick, we are struggling with sleeping at night, which we didn't have an issue with before. 

Sadly, I have a huge baby. She is about 20 lbs and maybe 27 inches or so. and wearing 18 month clothes. I didn't get to have a little baby for very long... :(

SuzyQ-me: Yes, we swaddle for naps and sleep at night.  I had started doing it with my second child after naps and sleep were a bit of a challenge with my first.  My second and third loved being swaddled until about 9-10 months and then they slept just fine after without it.  How I would be able to tell they were ready for no swaddle was to try and put them down without it and if sleep at night was fine and they weren't waking to be awake (nursing and then back to sleep was fine) then I stopped.   I know it's not the norm to do it for so long, but I found the startle reflex lasts for about that long.

20lbs?! OMG! Chloe is also around 27-28 inches but barely 15 lbs! Holy cow, what a big girl, but she doesnt look like a giant. She looks petite! So adorable!

yeah - 20 lbs. I weighed her a week ago - she actually lost a pound when she was throwing up last week, but I wasn't worried for some reason. I might be behind on her height, tho. Her pedi walked in at her 4 month and said "your daughter is huge! Healthy and THRIVING, and huge!"  He also said, "see this growth chart?  Most babies follow this curve. Yours has a straight line. I expect her to be the average size of a 1 yr old at her 6 month appt." (To which I said "Am I feeding her too much?)  I really do love her doc, he was just impressed with her size. I even hear it from the strangers in stores "6 months? Wow! She's big for a 6 month old!"  Can I complain about how many different wardrobes I have had to buy this kid already? About one entire size a month. I have sworn off anything one piece, because I can stretch out the use of separates a little bit longer.   I was a little concerned, but she is 95% percentile in head, weight and length, which indicates she is very balanced, just growing fast, nothing else. I'd post another pic with me in it, but I'm already feeling bad about putting so many up. 

Your daughter is so cute! Red hair?  and so little (longing look...)   Is that a teething necklace? I've been looking for one, but I don't know where it is best to get one. Suggestions?

I'm loving all the pictures!! It's amazing we're at the 6 month mark now...babies are off and running and we made it this far, mamas! Yeah! ;)

My daughter (who is now 4) was always a BIG baby too and I got used to all the 'she's huge' comments. She is still super tall now, as tall as most of the children in my son's kindergarten class.

Luke, who will be 6 mos next week, finally rolled over! Sheesh. He immediately started pulling his knees up under him while on his belly, so on to the next thing. And he's sitting up for longer and longer. He's been nursing way more all of a sudden so growth spurt, I guess? He's 16.5 lbs.

I agree that separates are the way to go! I only have a few one pieces now that I do not ever put in the dryer. Luke sleeps so much better in them. Nice and roomy and cozy. They are 9-12 mo size.

Oh on the teething necklaces I highly recommend Inspired by Finn. I've bought a few from them over the years and they're great. I got one for Luke too and he's been wearing it the last few weeks during the day. It really does make a difference in his temperament so I do believe they help.

@alindsay46, we are also struggling with the daycare germs.  It's terrible, he actually really likes school and the teacher is amazing.  I just wish i could send him there in a little bubble!!

We also have an amber teething necklace and it's shocking how well it works.  Really calms him.  Plus, adorable.  My father got it here:

I picked up a cute rubber bead necklace for Isaac to chew on while I am wearing him.  He loves it!  They are called Chew Beads.

She had her 6 month visit yesterday and she is 28.5 inches 100% and 15lbs 30%! She is my long and lean baby but that follows her pattern since her two month visit. She was chunkier at birth but all of her energy has gone into length! I agree on the two piece outfit! She can Wear 12 month tops already, but the bottoms wont fit in the waist so separates are in order for this little mini.

I also ordered mine from Inspired by Finn and there are always coupon codes, try "diaper pin", that one always seems to work. Its also from Lithuania, where I think the majority of the worlds amber comes from. I can decide if its really worth it but it looks cute. I wonder if the effects can remain on baby for several days because Ive taken it off not noticed anything for a day or so and when the fussiness ensues I will remember we forgot about the necklace and within an hour or so of putting it on, she is calm again. Coincidence? I dunno, but it sure looks cute! :-) Ive read the lighter beads have more acid so I got the lemonade version. Chew Beads, I need to check those out! She needs something to grab besides my face while nursing!

Hi everyone, its been a while and I've changed my name. I used to be Bonnie Nova. Just wanted to post a pic on here since I come here every once in a while to see how everyone is doing. We are doing ok. Baby still has GERD and we have yet to figure out why. We are too busy trying to get any kind of sleep that we can.
