Flower of Bliss, I love Solen! I think Power and Higgens would both work, but so would Joseph. I think because it has been so consistently popular it isn't as closely tied to Catholicism as it once was.
I'm in the same boat with liking uncommon but real names. Neither my name, my husband's, or our daughter's are in the top 1000 and I'd like this one to be the same. I really like Lyra and Azalea. A few I've been considering that might appeal to you too are Ziya, Seren, Nyneve, Anwen, Dhanya, Vita. I'm not sure I love any of them but they at least caught my attention.
Judy, I think Cecilia is really nice and goes great with your other girl's names. I don't think it's too popular at all but it's definitely familiar enough to people that it shouldn't cause any problems.
I haven't even started talking about names with DH yet. I'm having enough trouble coming up with something I like, not to mention him too! My current favourites for a girl are Linnea and Solana. I like middle names that either honour family or have some sort of meaning and I've got a few ideas but I'm still all over the place. I was just reading something and the word "Jubilee" jumped out at me. Maybe Linnea Jubilee? Or is that way too much name?
Boys are even worse. So far I've come up with Torin and Gareth but I don't know if I like either of them enough to use.
Once DH is home from his hockey tournament I guess we'll actually have to start talking about it. I love names but dread name conversations even though our decision making process for DD wasn't overly painful.
