I don't really see how. You need to give them water, and you need to rinse them not only to replenish the water, but to keep mold and such from growing. But, who knows, maybe it could work. I can't tell from that video, however.
post #3 of 33/5/12 at 6:08amHm, I was skeptical when I looked at the website, but I was curious enough to google for more information. It looks like the basic idea is:
-germinate the seeds
-dry them with a cloth
-place them in a muslin bag and hang the bag and leave it
-in a couple of days, you will have sprouts - no rinsing necessary
One site said it works for grains and lentils, but not beans/legumes, and another said it works best with larger beans, but I guess you could experiment to find out for yourself. One other thing mentioned was that you'll likely have more trouble with rot, because you aren't regularly rinsing them or checking them, and bacteria will tend to accumulate in the bags.
There may be more details and tricks to it (for $40 plus for the DVD, I certainly hope so), but that seems to be the gist of it.
I dunno. While I was waiting for my coffee to brew this morning, I rinsed the jar of sprouts sitting on my kitchen counter. It took about 10 seconds, if that. I rinse them once in the morning and once in the evening. I find that if I miss a rinse, they still grow well. It doesn't seem like a big deal to use the tried-and-true method.
