Hi! My name is Mallory. I am 25 years old. Joe and I have been together for 9 years, married for 7 years this June. We have 2 kids and 2 pets. If I was at my favorite restaurant right now I would order probably a bloomin' onion or spinach artichoke dip. I like appetizers! But we will actually be having leftover roast for dinner tonight. When I work for pay I teach 3 year old preschool three days a week. When I am home with the kids my favorite part of the day is first thing in the morning. Both girls are in good moods and Greta takes her best nap in the  morning. I can get the most done then. My hobbies and interests include photography, camping, and hanging out on my message boards.


Favorite

Music: Probably Folk music I guess. I listen to a lot of children's music right now between my kids and my preschool kids!
Movie: I don't really have a tried and true favorite, just the last one I saw that I really liked. From my childhood, my favorites were Little Women and Annie. Anymore, I pretty much stick to comedies because I don't have to focus on them too much. I don't get to the movies much lately.
Book: Kind of the same as movies, I usually just love whatever I'm reading at the moment. I'm currently re-reading Waiting for Birdy. I read it while I was pregnant with Greta and thought it would be neat to go back and re-read it now that she's here and a little older. 
Season: Fall
Household chore: I pretty much dislike all domestic responsibilities. I don't mind doing dishes too much.
Cause: Oh man, I guess I've never really thought about it. There are a lot of "causes" that stir up passion in me, but not one thing in particular that sticks out. I guess I just want to see every person treated and viewed equally. It really bothers me when I talk to someone like my grandmother. She was raised in such a different generation from me and we have a hard time seeing eye to eye on a lot of things. 
Diaper: When I used cloth, I loved pockets and quite a nice collection of Fuzzibunz and Bumgenius 4.0s. Now, I use Luvs. Not because I love them, but because I can afford them and I don't have to wash them. I miss my cloth diapers.

If you could change one thing about _____, what would it be?

The world? I'm bad at general questions like this... there are too many things I would change and the world is so big. In this country, I would get rid of lobbying and the two-party system in government.
Your house? The size. I generally like my house. I like the layout for the most part and I like the style (bungalow), but it's just way too small.
Your parenting? I'd like to be more patient. I really try and sometimes I just feel like I know too much because this is essentially what my degree is in. It makes it hard for me to relax and just go with it sometimes. I'm learning though. 
Your life? I really like my life for the most part. I would really like to be a SAHM though. It just does not work for us financially.


What would your best friends say is your best feature? Oh gosh, I have no idea. I'd have to ask them!
If a genie gave you three wishes what would you ask for? My baby sleeping through the night, my husband's income to be enough to support me staying at home, and our house to be magically built already.
Do you have any pet peeves? None in particular. I mean, there are things that bother me but not one big thing that sticks out.
Where would you go on a dream vacation? Somewhere in Europe probably, or Australia. My cousin currently lives in Germany with her husband who is in the Air Force. They are in their early 20s and have no kids, so they have seriously spent the last 3 years just traveling around Europe seeing everything they can. I am so envious!
Where is the best place you've been? I visited Seattle with my parents when I was 14 and have always, always wanted to go back! However, this year we're taking the girls to Gulf Shores and I think that will be a lot of fun. And next year we're going to Jamaica and I'm hoping that will top it all!

Wow, so did you get married at 18, then? Were you and your husband high school sweethearts?

Haha! I totally put the wrong age. I keep doing that. I actually turned 26 a couple of months ago, I just keep forgetting. I guess I'd like to be perpetually 25? I was 19 when I got married. DH is my high school sweetheart, but he was out of high school when we started dating. I was 17 and he was 21.

Got it  I always forget how old I am, too. I'm also 26. I think it's been hard to remember how old I am since I turned 22. 

So are you guys buying land to build your house on? I think I remember you saying you want to build a dome home?

I have had a hard time remembering ever since I turned 22 as well!! Weird!

Yes, we're currently looking for a lot that we'd want to buy. We used to want to build outside of town, but when we started thinking about hooking up to water, paying more for utilities and setting up a septic system, we decided in city limits would be a better option for us. I'd like to build in the next town over. It's a tiny little community, only about 200 people. The lots are bigger and super cheap (we're talking less than 5k for gorgeous lots!) It's only about a 5 minute drive into town. Plus, the zoning laws there are much more relaxed so we'd have more options when we start building. And yes, we are building a dome!

My dream job besides being at home? I really want to get my Montessori certification sometime. I'm waiting until the local school expands more though. They don't have any openings and I don't want to drive into the city to work. I did already talk to them about volunteering there though and she put me down as a substitute teacher. So, I'm getting my foot in the door. That's the school we've enrolled DD1 in for next year.

TV show... I really like Parenthood on NBC. Dexter is a huge favorite of mine too. And I'm soooo excited for Mad Men to come back on this month!

I think the last concert I went to was last year with my parents. We went to see Trans Siberian Orchestra around Christmas time.

Okay- so which character are you most like?  Christina, Julia, Sarah, or Jasmine?  I'm definitely Christina, even though she drives me NUTS. :-)

It is a really great show! My sister and I both watch so we're always gossiping about it. There really are things I love and hate about every character. If I had to pick a favorite female it'd be... Christina probably. There are things about her that drive me nuts, but she's such a great mom and stands up for her kids when they really need it. I loved when she told off those boys for making fun of Max. Male character, definitely Crosby. He's just such a great guy and always trying to do something good. I love Joel too. I can't believe last week was the season finale already, I'm going to miss it!! Also, I have to say as time goes on I don't like their mom so much. She seems like a person I should like, but she's always unhappy about something and I wish she would just be happy already.

Oh, but who am I most like? Gosh... probably Christina. I can see some of myself in Sarah too, but I didn't take the same path she did.
