Can CPM's practice in the UK?

Hi, I'm thinking about studying as a CPM and was wondering if anyone knows whether it's possible to transfer to a midwife in the UK. I may eventually move back to the UK and would like to work as a midwife there too once I qualify here but am not sure I would be legal without a nursing degree.  Any advice / pointers much appreciated!  Thanks.

The CPM credential on its own is not sufficient to allow you to be a midwife in any other first world nation.

I think some graduates from Bastyr have been able to pass the necessary certifying process to practice in Canada but don't know about the UK.

Midwives in the UK are direct entry, no nursing degree required. However Im not sure how it would work without a bachelors in midwifery. You could try popping over to studentmidwife.net and see if any of them are familiar with transfering in from another country.

Keep in mind that it can be difficult to get a job in the UK right now, they are also quite overworked and understaffed so it is a lot different of a position then a CPM.
