I haven't had any thrush issues this time, thank goodness. We battled thrush when my first was a newborn and it was awful. I've taken a lot of precautions this time since I now know what my body needs (e.g. plenty of fresh air to the breasts, cloth pads rather than disposable) and I haven't noticed anything that would indicate thrush in any of us (though it is interesting to hear it can pass to DH, which makes sense, but I hadn't ever thought of before). I have been keeping an eye on things and I don't think it's an infection. I'm guessing that the smell I was concerned about was from DTD. I'll continue to keep an eye on it and if things get worse I'll start looking into treatment.
I have been seeing a psychologist about the PPD. Also just being open about my feelings and realizing what's "normal" and when I need to take a step back is helpful for me. I also have my encapsulated placenta and you were definitely right, I can tell when I've forgotten my pill. I'm trying to listen to my body on my bedtime, even if that means going to bed at a time that seems way too early, and it's been helping. Life with a new baby is all about finding that balance. :-)
Thanks again JMJ, you're a wealth of information.
