How to prevent or fix this issue?

How to fix that?

Or maybe avoid it before buying some trunks (whats important to note?). My son has now 2 trunks with this problem and ist annoying.

hmmmm i think you could take a few stitches to the very very bottom of the pocket - turn them inside out, tack the pocket down....might work - you may see the stitches on the front of the shorts, but if you use very small stitches and like colored thread - it would be minimal.
